LOCAL SMME RECEIVES SUPPORT |
November 2022.
Mr Simphiwe Siko, a small construction business owner based in Noupoort, received funding as part of an SMME support programme, to help his business become sustainable.
With the intention of generating jobs or economic growth opportunities in the area, Noupoort Wind Farm funded this ABCD programme to support businesses and organisations to become economically viable.
“Our aim is to develop local enterprises to maintain and sustain their businesses. We envision this support for Mr Siko to do just that, as the funding will allow the business to expand and attract new clients,” said Sandisiwe Mntonintshi, Economic Development Manager at Noupoort Wind Farm.
His company, Busifusion, received grant funding a year ago to purchase construction equipment, which proved to be a game changer. As a result, Mr Siko was able to employ five people, secure new contracts, as well as deliver high-quality work.
“As a start-up business, in a very challenging economic climate, my business struggled to stay operational. Noupoort Wind Farm has helped me by providing me with funding for construction and power tools, making it easier for me to complete my projects,” expressed Mr Siko.
In closing, he said, “My gratitude goes out to the wind farm for their wonderful work in helping small businesses like ours get funding through their ABCD programme, which has enabled me to successfully grow my business to what it is today.”
