Transportation Routes

Route 1: wind turbine towers: N1 via Worcester, Laingsburg, Beaufort Wes

Route 2: N9 via Cookhouse, Cradock and Middleburg

Route 3: N10 via Uitenhage, Graaff-Reinet and Middleburg

Transportation Schedule Notes:

  • Transport plan dependent on DOT Transport Permit restrictions (unknown at present).
  • Offload plan dependent on crane pad component layout (to be confirmed).
  • Only unladen / empty transport allowed on Saturdays (assuming DOT approval).
  • In the towns of Riebeeck Kasteel, Riebeeck West, Wolseley, Laingsburg and Beaufort West will be avoided during peak traffic hours, including morning (07:30 to 08:30) and afternoon (16:30 to 18:00).
  • In the town of Middleburg, Meintjies Street will be closed for southbound traffic between Joubert Street and Victoria Street while blade loads are transported slowly through the centre of town, this will take approximately 10 minutes per load and traffic management will be in place during this time.
